Job Description
Position Summary

The role is responsible for the oversight of all EHS matters for the North American region, ensuring the company is in full compliance with current and future Environmental, Health and Safety Legislation and meets all applicable regulations for OSHA, EPA, state and local requirements. The role is also responsible for the promotion and maintenance of a safe working environment for all Colorcon and NoTox employees, contractors and visitors to the North American sites and ensuring the Colorcon EHS Mission Statement is effectively implemented. This individual will represent the North American region as a member of Colorcon's Global Safety Council and reports directly to the Site Director.

Responsibilities & Duties:

Serve as a member of Colorcon's Global Safety Council to help ensure EHS activities are harmonized and measured by the same high standards throughout the North American region.
Develop Standard Operating Procedures and compliance programs to create and maintain a culture of safety and environmental awareness.
Prepare and submit reports to regulatory agencies as required. Proactively measure EHS performance, and communicate current issues and metrics to departments and management as appropriate.
Ensure all EHS incidents/deviations are properly investigated and include prevention solutions with corrective actions tracked to completion.
Audit equipment, areas and processes for safe operation and compliance with all applicable regulations and KPI's.
Provide leadership and training to employees with special duties, including Safety Officers, Hazmat Team, and First Aid Team.
Help manage care, support and safe return to work duties for injured employees.
Assess EHS implications of proposed new / altered materials, equipment and processes, including active pharmaceutical ingredients and controls.
Perform industrial hygiene sampling as needed; collect and interpret data to help design and implement suitable solutions.
Provide recommendations for continuous improvement, based upon analysis of incident and industrial hygiene data, and behavior-based safety observations.
Responsible for management of staff and other duties of the EHS department.
Required Experience

Bachelors of Science degree plus 10 years of experience in safety, toxicology or related scientific or engineering
discipline.
Experience in managing compliance with OSHA safety regulations.
Experience in managing compliance with EPA and DEP regulations.
Experience in the pharmaceutical industry, specifically in risk assessment and control of active pharmaceutical ingredients strongly desired.
