Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and highly motivated molecular biologist to join the Quantitative Biosciences Automation and Engineering group at Client.
Successful candidates will become part of a creative and flexible team that utilizes cutting-edge automation and science to support the discovery and interrogation of Client medicines.
Successful candidates will focus on the operation of robotic systems and associated instrumentation, targeted towards molecular biology and flow cytometry assay automation.
Candidates for the position must support parallel projects and multi-task daily.
Expertise in molecular biology techniques is required and liquid handler automation (Biomek, Hamilton, Tecan) experience is preferred.
We are focused on remaining at the forefront of this fast-paced, exciting field and are always looking for innovative minds.
Critical to success will be the ability to design experiments, interpret and track results, and utilize this information for workflow development and optimization.
Candidates must have a demonstrated ability to follow established protocols, design new protocols and experiments, and show attention to detail.
The candidate is expected to participate in preparation of assay reagents and instrumentation for the execution of automated workflows.
Monitoring executing automation systems is crucial with the ability for system and instrument level error recovery.
Qualifications:
Education:
A bachelor's degree in engineering or Life Sciences with a minimum of 4 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and/or biotech industry OR MS Degree in Engineering or Life Sciences with a minimum of 2 years of experience in laboratory automation in the pharmaceutical and/or biotech industry.
The candidate will have experience with some of the following techniques and instrumentation:
qPCR, nucleic acid extraction, NGS, digital PCR.
Automated assay execution, data analysis, and electronic notebook tracking.
Assay development, optimization, and translation to automation.
Microsoft Office, Graphpad Prism, scripting.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
BiomekiSeries, Kingfisher Apex, QuantStudio, Lunatic, Combi, BlueWasher, Cytomat, Precise, Staubli, WDII, PlateLoc, Xpeel, Cytation, Pherastar, Vspin.
Nice to have:
SQL/Oracle programming.
Microsoft programming languages (VB, C#, labview or equivalent).
Robotic process automation Note:
This is 1 year onsite assignment with possibility of extension at West Point,PA.
Shifts available( 7a-4pm, 8a-5pm and 9a-6p).
