The Global Vaccine Technical Operations (GVTO) - Laboratory Process Support group within our Manufacturing Division is responsible for supporting all of our Company's commercial vaccines with best in class laboratory support for technical investigations, life-cycle-management driven process enhancements and commercial vaccine expansions. We seek an energetic, people-oriented leader with strong scientific and technical skills to lead laboratory activities supporting multiple vaccine programs. The Senior Scientist of Analytical Laboratory Process Support will be responsible for supporting business-critical analytical objectives related to analytical separation for one or more of our Company vaccine franchises. The scope of work includes development, continuous improvement, support of manufacturing investigations, and routine testing using various analytical methods. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Designs and executes analytical method development and analytical testing using various analytical methods, primarily Liquid Chromatography or LC-based analytical methods for recombinant protein, virus, and polysaccharide. Identifies and resolves technical and operational problems through application of problem-solving skills. Identifies new approaches and/or technologies to improve assay performance and overall laboratory work efficiency Manages testing schedule and performs laboratory data reviews Communicates data within GVTO and across organizations. Collaborates with other scientists within GVTO, site manufacturing, commercialization, research, and other of our Company process support labs. Authors technical documentations. Opportunities to mentor and develop junior scientists. Education Minimum Requirement:
B.S. in relevant science (Biochemistry, Microbiology, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical, etc) or engineering (Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Bioengineering, etc) fields of study with 6 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree with 4 years of relevant experience; or Ph.D. with 2 years of relevant experience. Required Experience and Skills:
Minimum 2 years of direct hands-on experience with LC-based analytical methods. Expertise in lab-scale experimental execution and data analysis. Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE) and statistical-based data analysis. Strong communicator with proven collaboration and problem solving skills Preferred Experience and Skills:
Have performed analytical method development for large biological molecules such as recombinant protein, virus, and polysaccharide.
